Oman: Oman: Regulated products under Technical Regulation on conformity scheme

Oman has published a list of Regulated Product categories under the Technical Regulation on conformity scheme, Omani Ministerial Decree 190/2021

Since 2021, Oman has had an Omani Conformity Scheme, which required products subject to these regulations need to obtain certification from a Notified Body designated by the DGSM (The Directorate General for Standards and Metrology).

DGSM, operating under the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) of the Sultanate of Oman, is enforcing the technical regulations for the new Omani Conformity Scheme, which took effect on June 5, 2022. Products falling under these regulations must obtain certification from a Notified Body authorized by the DGSM. Conformity certificates are issued with a one-year validity and must be renewed annually.

In Stage 1, the regulations applied to dishwashers, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners. Manufacturers are required to secure an Omani Type Examination certificate from a designated Notified Body. These products must pass safety and EMC tests, and manufacturers are obligated to prepare detailed product design and risk analysis documentation.
