UE: Substancje powiązane z PFHxS zakazane w UE

 

The EU Commission has announced its intention to implement a ban on perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS) in the EU legislation.  This group of substances is expected to get listed in June 2022 under the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants, whose EU is a signatory.

In order to implement this international obligation into the EU law, the Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on persistent organic pollutants (so called POP regulation) will be amended by a delegated regulation.  It will add PFHxD to the Annex I of the POP Regulation, which contains substances whose manufacturing, placing on the market and use, whether on their own, in mixtures or in articles, shall be prohibited.
