Sri Lanka : Nouvelles réglementations sur les importations et les exportations (normalisation et contrôle de la qualité)

 

Sri Lanka published a new list of products which are under the Compulsory Import Inspection Scheme of Sri Lanka operated by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.  Importers are not permitted to import these specified items to Sri Lanka unless they conform to the relevant Sri Lanka Standards.

The Regulations update the existing Imports and Exports Control (Standardization and Quality Control) Regulation 2017 adding and removing several products from the list.

The list counts now approximately 120 entries and contains mostly food products but also several industrial products.

Every importer shall in respect of each article imported by him, furnish to the Director of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution, periodically as required by him, a certificated of compliance with the Sri Lanka Standards stipulated for that article, issued by a laboratory in the exporting country, either accredited by a recognized accreditation body or recognized by the Sri Lanka Institution.

The article(s) covered under these regulations shall be assessed for conformity to Sri Lanka standards on the basis of relevant conformity assessment procedures and guidelines, laid down by the Director General of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.
