China: New/Updated standard for Cells and batteries used in household electric appliances China has published a new National Standard of the P.R.C., Safety of lithium ion cells and batteries used in electronic and electrical equipment — Part 5: household electric appliances. It applies to lithium-ion batteries and battery packs used in portable household appliances (hereinafter referred to as batteries and battery packs). Examples of portable household appliances within the scope of this document are as follows: —Portable personal cleaning and care appliances: such as electric toothbrushes, shavers, hair clippers, skin smoothers, etc.; —Portable personal health appliances: such as neck/lumbar massagers, electric knee braces, hand warmers, etc.; —Portable floor cleaning appliances: such as robot vacuums, robot mops, vacuum cleaners, window cleaners, electric irons, garment steamers, etc.; —Other similar appliances: such as lighting fixtures, sex toys, air purifiers, humidifiers, indoor environment (such as temperature and humidity/formaldehyde/PM2.5, etc.) monitoring instruments, etc. The portable household appliances listed above do not include all products; therefore, products not listed are not necessarily outside the scope of this document.
