The Turkish Ministry of Trade published new versions regulations on product groups supervised in imports. The regulations (“Communiqués”) are updated every year and define which groups of products are subject to the registration in the Turkish risk-based import control system TAREKS.

These regulations are:

– Kommuniqué über den Import radioaktiver Stoffe und der diese verwendenden Geräte (Import: 2022/3)

– Kommuniqué zum Import hochintensiver Süßstoffe (Import: 2022/4)

– Kommuniqué über die Einfuhr von Karten und Waren, die Karteninformationen enthalten (Einfuhr: 2022/5)

– Kommuniqué zum Allgemeinen Präferenzsystem (Import: 2022/6)

– Kommuniqué zum Import von Straßenfahrzeugen (Import: 2022/7)

– Kommuniqué zum Import ziviler Flugzeuge (Import: 2022/8)

– Kommuniqué über den Import gebrauchter oder generalüberholter Waren (Import: 2022/9)

– Kommuniqué über den Import von Banknoten und ähnlichen Wertpapieren (Import: 2022/10)

– Kommuniqué über die Einfuhr bestimmter Sprengstoffe, Schusswaffen, Messer und ähnlicher Werkzeuge (Einfuhr: 2022/11)

– Kommuniqué über den Import von Waren mit elektronischen Identitätsinformationen (Import: 2022/20)

– Mitteilung zum elektronischen Antragssystem im Einfuhrverfahren (Einfuhr: 2022/21)

In principle, being in a customs union with the EU, Turkey recognizes the EU product legislation and the CE marking (according to Decision 1/95 of the EU-Turkey Association Council, 96/142/EC). Normally, EU products entering Turkey are exempt from conformity assessment controls and should have direct access to the Turkish market unless controls are justified based on a risk analysis. However, the European Commission reports that EU companies still have problems importing to Turkey and too often test reports are required for imported products.

Therefore, EU importers should always remain vigilant and have the necessary documents ready.
