Standardization and RCM mark

  • Standards Australia is Australia’s national standards body. While not a government agency, Standards Australia is recognized as the leading standards development body in Australia.Standards Australia has a policy of adopting international standards wherever possible.

In Australia, there are two main compliance schemes:

    •       EESS Regulatory Compliance
    •       ACMA Regulatory Compliance

Both of these schemes use the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM).  The Mark is co-owned by the electrical regulator (Regulatory Authorities (RAs)) and Australian Communications Media Authority (ACMA).

Earlier, there existed two other marks in Australia: the “A-Tick” and the “C-Tick”.  The A-Tick logo indicated compliance with the telecommunications equipment requirements.  The C-Tick logo indicated compliance with the Electromagnetic Compatibility or EMC requirements.  The RCM Mark replaced the A-Tick and C-Tick compliance marks. You can keep supplying products that you labelled with the A-Tick or C-Tick before 1 March 2016, until the stock runs out.

    or exporters and importers.
