China: New GB standards for drones (civil unmanned aircraft)

 

China has published three new standards for drones (civil unmanned aircraft):

  • National Standard of the P.R.C., Cybersecurity requirements for data links of civil unmanned aircraft
  • National Standard of the P.R.C., Data recording requirements of the flight control system for civil unmanned aircraft
  • National Standard of the P.R.C., Detect and obstacle avoid requirements for civil unmanned aircraft

The first one specifies the technical requirements for detecting and avoidance capability of civil unmanned aircraft system and describes the corresponding test methods.  It applies to the development, manufacturing, delivery, and use of civil unmanned aircraft system.

The second one specifies data recording requirements of flight control systems for civil unmanned aircraft and describes corresponding test methods.

The third one specifies the cybersecurity technical requirements and test methods for the data link of civil unmanned aircraft.

Aditionally, the following documents, through normative references, constitute essential provisions of the standards:

  • GB/T 38152—2019 Terminology for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems;
  • GB/T 25069—2022 Terminology for Information Security Technology;
  • GB/T 35018 Classification and Grading of Civil Unmanned Aerial Vehicles;
  • GB 46860 Unique Product Identifier for Civil Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
