Japan: Textile labelling rules update

 

Japan has published a partial Revision to the Textile Goods Quality Labeling Regulation.

The objective for the revision is to provide consumers with more accurate quality information for their choice.

In order to reflect the latest revision of “JIS L0001 (Textiles-Care Labelling code using symbols)”, the revised year is added to the JIS number to be shown as “JIS L0001:2024 (Textiles-Care Labelling code using symbols) ”.

The following document, pursuant to the provision of the Household Goods Quality Labeling Act (Act No. 104 of 1962), is the subject to revisions. – Textile Goods Quality Labeling Regulation (Public Notice of the Consumer Affairs Agency No. 4 of March 30, 2017).
