India: New certification regulation for household appliances.
India has published Safety of Household, Commercial and Similar Electrical Appliances (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
It shall apply to all electrical appliance intended for household, commercial or similar appliance with rated voltage not exceeding 250V single phase alternating current or 415V three phase alternating current and which do not fall under the scope of any other Quality Control Order issued under Bureau of Indian Standards Act.
Goods or articles specified in column (2) of the Table shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard specified in column (3) of the Table and shall Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau as per Scheme-l of Schedule-ll of the Bureau of Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
