EU: New legislative initiative on childcare articles.

The EU Commission has launched a public consultation on restriction on substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR) in childcare articles.

The initiative aims to protect children from substances that are carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR) and may be present in childcare articles (such as products intended to facilitate sleep, relaxation, hygiene, the feeding of children or sucking on the part of children).

A draft is expected soon, and an adoption is expected in the Q4 of 2024.
