China: New testing standards for RoHS

 

China has published new testing standards for testing method standards for hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products.

It was decided to adopt the following testing method standards for the conformity assessment system for restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products from GB/T 26125 “Electronic and Electrical Products VI” Determination of restricted substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers)”:

GB/T 39560.1 , GB /T  39560.2 , GB/T 39560.301 , G B/T 39560.4 , GB /T 39560.5 , GB /T 39560.6 , GB /T 39560.701 , GB /T 39560.702 (a total of 8 series standards for the determination of certain substances in electronic and electrical products aka GB/T 39560 series standards)

  1. Starting from March 1 , 2024 , the testing methods for conducting conformity assessment activities on the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products shall be implemented in accordance with the GB /T 39560 series of standards.
  2. If the conformity assessment is completed in accordance with GB/T 26125 before March 1 , 2024 , the standard conversion will be completed through natural transition methods such as expiration of certificate renewal and product changes.
  3. Products that have been shipped or imported before March 1 , 2024 do not need to undergo standard conversion.
