China: Changes to the CCC certification
Recently, the Chinese Certification and Accreditation Administration released a notice regarding the administration of Compulsory Product Certification (CCC) certificates and marks.
The notice outlines the following modifications to CCC certification:
CCC certification now adopts electronic certificates, with the option to issue paper certificates upon client request. Previously issued valid paper certificates remain in use and will seamlessly transition to electronic certificates through processes like certificate modification and renewal. Both paper and electronic certificates hold equal validity.
The issuance and utilization of CCC certification certificates and marks must adhere to the guidelines outlined in the annexes titled “Management Requirements for Compulsory Product Certification Certificates” and “Management Requirements for Compulsory Product Certification Marks.”
Specific details in the annexes include:
- Annex 1 specifies the management requirements for CCC certificates, detailing information such as certificate name, number, certification commissioner details, producer information, product details, certification standards, issuance date, validity period, QR code for certificate verification, and certification body information.
- Annex 2 outlines the usage requirements for the CCC mark, which can be in the form of a sticker, mold, or print on the packaging or outer surface of the product. Additionally, electronic CCC marks are applicable for devices with integrated screens and electronic nameplates.
The effective date of these changes is January 1, 2024, and this announcement supersedes Announcement No. 10, 2018.
