Saudi Arabia: New machinery safety regulation.
Saudi Arabia has published a new Draft of the Technical Regulation for General Requirements for Machinery Safety. It covers, among others, supplier obligations, labelling, conformity assessment procedures, responsibilities of regulatory authorities, responsibilities of market surveillance authorities, violations and penalties.
The regulation counts 111 pages, out of which the list of relevant machinery safety standards makes up most pages. The Arabic SASO standards are mostly based either on international ISO standards or on European EN standards.
