Mozambique: Regulation on standardization and conformity assessment

 

Mozambique has published a new Regulation on standardization and conformity assessment.

The Regulation is contained in the Decree No. 8/2022 which revokes Decrees No. 59/2009, of 8 October and No. 19/2010, of 30 June.

The Regulation affects all imported products included in the list of risk products in Annex II of this Regulation. Among them are different categories of products, including household electrical equipment, some automotive products, food, etc.

The Regulation requires conformity with defined technical standards for products in scope.  Moreover, it prescribes a conformity assessment for them.
