Israel: Update of the flammability standard for toys

Israel has published a new standard SI 562 part 2 – Safety of toys: Flammability.

This draft standard revision adopts the European Standard EN 71-2: December 2020. The major changes included in this revision are due to implementing the first amendment to the adopted European Standard. In addition, the standard’s Hebrew section adds to paragraphs 4.3 and 4.4 a new requirement that toy disguise costumes and toys intended to be worn by a child in play shall be permanently marked with a Hebrew warning.

Both the old standard and this new revised standard will apply for six months from the entry into force of this revision. During this time, products may be tested according to the old or the new revised standard.

The draft in Hebrew can be accessed HERE.
